This siding includes full 1” thick 1×12 and 1×3 rough cut pine for $2.19 per sq ft untreated or $2.79 per sq ft pressure treated MCA (light green). For exterior use we recommend that you allow us to have it pressure treated (allow 2-3 weeks for treating), then you install it wet, and after a few months of drying you apply a good topical stainer/sealer.
Some folks choose to install this board and batten untreated in an exterior application. In that case we recommend that you apply your topical stainer/sealer on all sides before installation, then immediately after installing apply another couple of coats on top of the exposed surfaces.
STAIN: Pressure treating helps prevent rot, but a good topical stainer/sealer helps prevent cracking, warping, and other weather damage. We offer a great stainer/sealer that covers up the light green treatment well and adds additional protection and beauty to your project. Customer applies during and/or after installation.
WEATHERED TREATMENT: If you are interested in a weathered look we have a topical treatment that causes the wood to grey quickly making it look years old in just weeks! Customer applies after installation.
